Lambton College of Applied Arts & Technology invites applications from qualified and passionate individuals interested in teaching Office Administration - Health Services courses on a part-time basis for the School of Business & Sustainable Leadership, pending sufficient enrolment.This role is part-time, starting in January 2025. Classes will be held in person at the Lambton College Sarnia campus.Rate of pay is to be determined at time of hire in accordance with education & qualifications based on our classification form in the Collective Agreement.
•Create a positive teaching and learning environment;•Prepare and/or update lesson plans;•Provide innovative course instruction that uses a variety of teaching and assessment methodologies that are in accordance with curriculum standards and direction of the College;•Deliver curriculum in a flexible delivery format;•Prepare, administer, and grade student assessments including detailed feedback;•Monitor student performance, maintain progress reports and facilitate student success;•Communicate with students in a timely manner;•Follow the Academic Calendar and the policies and procedures.
•Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Office Administration, Healthcare Administration, or a related field.•Specialized training or certification in Medical Office Administration, including courses in Medical Terminology, Pharmacology, Dental Anatomy or Health Information Management would be an asset.•Familiarity with healthcare standards and regulations (e.g. PIPEDA).•A minimum of 5+ years of experience in a medical or healthcare office setting is required, along with proficiency in Microsoft Word, medical (OHIP) billing, and scheduling.•Preference will be given to candidates with teaching and/or training experience with evidence of demonstrated application of adult learning principles and teaching/assessment methodologies, curriculum design and development.•The successful candidate will be a self-motivated, independent worker who functions well in a student-centered, team environment with superior communication, team building, leadership and computer skills.•Candidates should be passionate about teaching, possess an entrepreneurial spirit, and be committed to preparing students to contribute meaningfully to their local and global communities. Successful candidates will demonstrate a commitment and capacity for teaching excellence, student engagement, continuous quality improvement, sustainability, global citizenship, and equity, diversity & inclusion.
