The Office of Cheryl D. Lindsay, M.S., S-LP is excited to be expanding while we continue to provide dedicated treatment for our pediatric, school-age and adult clients in Grey Bruce and surrounding area. We are currently seeking a qualified Communicative Disorders Assistant (CDA) to fulfill an independent contract position for a large caseload in Kincardine, Port Elgin Ontario area. The CDA may provide communication screenings and implement communication intervention programs individually or in groups based on the goals outlined by the supervising S-LP. Areas of treatment may include receptive and expressive language, articulation, phonology, fluency, voice, hearing, traumatic brain injury, augmentative and alternative communication, literacy and pragmatics. The role will include preparation of therapy materials to assist S-LP, planning of therapy sessions for clients and assistance with waitlist and program management.

Additional Requirements

Responsibilities:
• Support the recommendations made by SLP regarding speech and language programming, resources, accommodations, and modifications for students with communication disorders as well as developmental challenges including autism spectrum disorder (ASD), speech, reading, and writing; in-person and virtual service delivery.
• Participate along with supervising SLP in multidisciplinary team and family meetings.
• Create specific and individualized communication and literacy materials that support a client’s communication and/or literacy development.
• Model a variety of speech, language and communication facilitation strategies in schools, homes, daycares.
• Collect student-specific data as requested by a SLP to help inform the programming recommendations provided.
• Demonstrate accountability for CDA professional practice standards and in accordance with established CASLPO policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the SLP and have flexibility in effectively managing a changing caseload.

Education, Experience, and Qualifications:
• Communicative Disorders Assistant graduate certificate required.
• Minimum one-year related experience preferred.
• Proficient verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills required.
• Valid Ontario driver’s license, Vulnerable Sector Check and Resume required.
